GeoForce Texas stands out among educational outreach programs at the University of Texas at Austin.
A new article by Nicholas Persac for Know, an online publication of University Communications at UT Austin, confirms that fact in listing GeoForce Texas as one of “Five UT Programs Changing Education.”
A program of the Jackson School of Geosciences, GeoForce Texas enrolls about 600 students each summer from minority-serving and inner-city high schools and takes them on field trips that help prepare them for future study and careers in the geosciences. Students start as ninth graders and continue in the program through their high school graduation.
