London’s Mail Online today features a fascinating report from the researchers aboard the NOAA Okeanos Explorer in the Gulf of Mexico. What initially was thought to be a shipwreck site on the ocean floor turned out to be an asphalt volcano, then a second was discovered.
University of Texas Institute for Geophysics researcher Jamie Austin is among those on this expedition.
