The University of Texas at Austin’s GeoFORCE Texas program, which introduces high school students from underserved areas to the career field of geosciences, has just been recognized by the White House and President Barack Obama with the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics and Engineering Mentoring.
The award, announced on March 30, 2015, is the highest honor from the United States government for mentoring programs in the aforementioned education fields.
