Brian is interested in mountain building processes and sedimentary basin development along convergent plate margins. He utilizes sedimentology, stratigraphy, geochronology, geochemistry, and structural geology to understand modern and ancient orogenesis, plateau construction, sediment provenance, and the evolution of river networks. Brian’s current research focuses on the uplift of the Andes and the growth of major river systems in South America.
