Postdoctoral Fellow
Kelsey received her B.S. in Geology from the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and her Ph.D. in Earth Science from Rice University, where she worked with Dr. Sylvia Dee. Her Ph.D. research used climate model simulations and reanalysis data to examine last millennium changes in Mississippi River basin hydroclimate as a framework for understanding future anthropogenic impacts.
At UT Austin, she is a member of Project SHIELD (Science for Hazards, Impact Evaluation, and Long-Term aDaptation), contributing to the project’s wildfire research team. She collaborates with Dr. Danielle Touma, Dr. Geeta Persad, and Dr. Zong-Liang Yang to investigate how land use and land cover change influence hydroclimate extremes, including drought and extreme fire weather.
