Research Associate Professor
The ocean, atmosphere, and cryosphere respond to incoming solar radiation and determine the state of climate while interactions among these components cause climate to fluctuate. Yuko’s research centers on the role of ocean-atmosphere interactions in climate variability on seasonal to millennial time scales. In recent years, she has been working mostly on interannual-decadal climate variability in the Pacific Ocean and its impacts on the United States climate.
