Steve earned his Ph.D. in Oceanography and M.S. in Earth Sciences from the University of New Hampshire, and a B.S. in Geology from Michigan Technological University. He specializes in using interdisciplinary geochemical, mineralogical, and physical property approaches to understand marine sediment deposition and early diagenesis. His current research involves characterizing and synthesizing methane hydrates.
