GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT
Abdulah’s research focusses around investigating the tectonostratigraphic evolution of the southern Gulf of Mexico basin during the Mesozoic period. He aims to understand the basin’s genetic evolution through utilizing detrital zircon analyses, along with seismic and well log data to reconstruct sediment fairways within pre and post salt deposition. Additionally, Abdulah’s research will focus on understanding the Jurassic Louann salt’s depositional history by using Sr and S dating techniques, providing better age constraints on early basin rift evolution.
