Graduated 2018
Dylan is interested in the dynamics controlling the rate of methane hydrate formation and hydrate stability in coarse-grained systems in lab experiments. Dylan performed hydrate formation experiments in the lab with a range of flow rates and clay contents in core-scale cylindrical sand samples. Using methods of characteristics solutions, mass balance equations, and computed tomography scanning, he analyzed these experiments to investigate hydrate formation behavior and the saturation and distribution of phases in the core.
