John M. Swartz

GRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT
John is interested in understanding sedimentary dynamics and processes in the marine and coastal environment. John investigates the relationship between modern morphology, past sedimentary records, and the processes responsible for their creation using a variety of geophysical and sedimentological tools (e.g. cores and logs, marine seismic, multi-beam bathymetry, LIDAR). His current research focuses on glacial processes in the Gulf of Alaska and coastal and offshore sediment dynamics in the Gulf of Mexico.

INTERESTS
marine geology and geophysics, sedimentary dynamics, coastal change
