Design Challenge Launches Applications August 18

NASA Texas Space Grant is excited to announce that the Fall 2025 Design Challenge applications will be open from August 18th – September 8th.
The TSGC Design Challenge is a unique workforce development experience offering undergraduate students an opportunity to propose, design, and fabricate a solution toward solving research objectives of importance to NASA and its mission. During the program, student teams will work with a NASA Mentor to develop these solutions before presenting their research at our Design Challenge Showcase in November.
This year’s Design Challenge will host Primary Topics from our NASA Johnson Space Center Mentors, sponsor NASA Artemis Challenges, and a Choose Your Own choice for students looking for a specialized topic.
The full list of topics will be announced at a later date with additional information.

Plant The Moon Space Grant Funding Applications Close August 10

With NASA going back to the Moon, astronauts need help with resources to maintain their long-duration missions. One of the ways students can help is by conducting crop experiments in lunar regolith.
In Plant the Moon, teams of K-12 and college students choose a crop and define their own parameters to support plant growth. Over 8 weeks, students will test what nutrients, fertilizers, or other modifiers will produce sustainable food sources.
Texas Space Grant will offer funding for a limited amount of High School and College teams from Texas, these applications are due August 10.
NASA L’SPACE Fall 2025 Program Applications Open

The NASA Lucy Student Pipeline Accelerator and Competency Enabler (L’SPACE) Program is a free, online, interactive program for students interested in pursuing a career with NASA or other organizations in the space ecosystem.
Students may participate in one academy per semester. Each 15-week academy is designed to provide unique, hands-on learning and insight into the dynamic world of the space industry.
The deadline to apply is August 24.
Accepting Applications: NASA Psyche Inspired Creative Internship

Psyche Inspired is a program that brings undergraduate students from any discipline or major together to share the excitement, innovation, and scientific and engineering content of NASA’s Psyche mission with the public in new ways through artistic and creative works.
During the program, students will create four original creative works, participate in a curated showcase, and have their works incorporated into a coffee table book.
