UTIG Director Terry Quinn has been appointed as the National Science Foundation Division Director for the Division of Ocean Sciences (OCE) effective Monday, July 23, 2018. 

“It has been an honor to serve as UTIG director over the past nine years,” Quinn said. “I am honored to have had a small role in the great history of UTIG, and I know that its future is bright because of all the wonderfully talented people who are dedicated to creating knowledge that expands the frontiers of geophysics.”

 

Mrinal Sen will serve as Interim Director while a search is conducted for a permanent director. Sen currently serves as UTIG Associate Director and previously served as Director of National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI) in Hyderabad, India. His new role begins Monday, July 23.
